Round 005

Sargasso Update? - A Temporary Shift and Life Happening

Sargasso Check-inLab Events

Why we are working on Sargasso for a sprint, and a loss of loved ones...

This is not particularly a progress update for Sargasso as much as it is a short update on life events pertaining to the lab. For the actual progress of Sargasso, that will come end of this week how far we got. We just wanted to let you know of something that happened.

Why The Shift?

We’ve temporarily set down Dicefire this next sprint. But honestly it’s for good reason, and also for a selfish reason. Case in point, due to the number of available hands we have at this time, the sprite asset work required to get Dicefire going takes considerable resources, and by that I mean either man hours or tokens. Right now, that’s tokens. The obvious solution is to remove the monetary chokehold or throw more money at the problem which, I’d rather not do the latter..

So the answer became let’s get Sargasso working. The labor itself has been fairly light and this honestly is going a lot faster than I myself expected it would. We might actually finish Sargasso by the end of this sprint. To be fair, we have been slowly piecemealing it together. It’s like a model with all the pieces and tools laid out on a table just waiting.

The Loss of People

As for the selfish reason, there have been a few losses of life in the HT family as far as parental figures go. That’s about as much as I can share on that particular subject, other than we thought a change of pace might be good. It tends to feel good building from the ground up sometimes rather than hammer away on the same thing you’ve been working on for a considerable length of time.

Is it the best move? No. We could’ve used OpenClaw for all our Dicefire needs. However, this is a proper excuse to do something with Sargasso, so the bait was bit. The unexpected loss also threw off our already loose update schedule, so apologies this is coming so late.

What's Next?

No bullet points this time. Put frankly, we let those who need to process, process. We let those who’d like to work, work. For me in particular, I’ll be hammering away at Sargasso and provide updates end of week, or beginning of next week. After that, we move back to Dicefire and use Sargasso to finish the assets which will already take a lot of effort. It’s my hope that the work we do on Sargasso will amplify our output and let us make something impressive.
